To: All 800 MHz Trunking System Customers
From: Lytle L. Smith
Subject: F.C.C.-Required Frequency Change
The Federal Communications Commission is requiring that we change some of the frequencies on our 800 MHz Trunking Radio System. This does not change how your system works and it does not reduce the capacity of our system in any way. However, it does involve the reprogramming of ALL RADIOS THAT UTILIZE THIS SYSTEM.
THIS RE-PROGRAMMING CHANGE WILL BE DONE ON A NO-CHARGE BASIS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS. However, we do need access to each and every unit that operates on our Trunking radio system. Any radios that are not re-programmed within the designated time-frame will not work properly and these units will not receive all their calls until they have been re-programmed to conform to the new frequency plan.
I just received a letter yesterday telling us that we must get all units re-programmed within 30 days. That means that we have to get all customer units re-programmed before the end of December 2005.
THIS LETTER IS YOUR OFFICIAL NOTICE THAT YOUR RADIOS MUST BE RE-PROGRAMMED WITHIN THE NEXT 30 DAYS. Dont forget this involves hundreds of radios from a large number of customers, so dont wait until the last minute to contact our service department about scheduling your re-programming. You need to talk to Rachel, our dispatcher/scheduler. Her extension number is 26.
By the way, any radios that are currently programmed, or are added to your programmed fleet, as of January 1, 2006 will be included in the monthly airtime billing, effective on January 1, 2006. This includes spare units. If you have any units that you do not want on your airtime billing, they should NOT be programmed. As a matter of fact you should have these units DE-Programmed (at no charge to you), while we are making these other changes.
CALL RACHEL AT 589-4214, EXT 26 TO SCHEDULE YOUR FREE SYSTEM RE-PROGRAMMING.
If you have any questions about this matter please feel free to call me, directly at 589-4214, Ext. 22.
